My Garden This Year 2016:

My Garden Is Amazing This Year-

Last Year my garden ended up all sad.
Everything died and I was very heart broken and sad.

But I decided not to let that experience scare me from
gardening. My grandmother was big at the gardening stuff,
and I felt like I is my job to keep on the legacy.
And let me tell you that it wasn't easy but I love that my
hard work paid off fantastically. And I'm
DARN proud of it. Lol!

My grandma always had a Gnome somewhere in her garden so
I started with the Gnome.
The whole blue thing wasn't cutting it for me so I
re did the whole thing.

The magic of paint and a good brush!!!

Now is Perfect!!! Better than that blue right?

Mr. Gnome looks happy around some of my beautiful plants.

Believe that it all looked like this.
I was so sad that my plants last year wasn't good at all.

Still sad but we getting there.
Most of all my flowers started from seeds starters.
The best way to start your garden.
This year weather was a little crazy so for me
it took longer for them to grow.

Plus I had a pesky SQUIRREL attacking my bulbs.
And get this yanking all of my plants from the roots.
I got them off my flowers with Cayenne Pepper powder.
And got a mint plant and a jalapeƱo plant also.

Pretty so far right?

The one in the pot is a Lily Stargazer.
It haven't bloom yet so I'm kind of sad about it but in time
I'll get to see them bloomed.

I added more seeds and sunflowers as well.

The sunflowers are getting big as of today it's almost as
tall as my husband!!!
I feel like I have a jungle, Lol!

I also added a fairy house, some fairies and tiny chairs.
I had tons of fun with this part.

Fairy village!!!
Beware of Magic!!!

Remember how I said it feels like a Jungle!!
It's more develop than this so is a big deal.

I love that tricycle, My mom gave to me as a gift
and I was soooo happy!!!

These are my Zinnias Love them, and they so huge now.
These are the Hawaiian Punch mix & the other side are
Purple Rush.

Next to my husband are my sunflowers. Aren't they tall?
They almost getting as big as us is crazy.

I didn't have a green thumb last year, but I didn't give up.
So please don't give up if they aren't turning out the way you expect.
Don't lose hope. And most importantly be patience.

HAPPY GARDENING FRIENDS!!

Award of Recognition And Merit Award:

Handmade Wood-burning Plaques-

So my beautiful princess graduated from Pre- K,
And of course I am so proud of her & her hard work.
But I also recognize the hard work of the teachers and
the staff of her school.

I decided to learn how to wood-burn myself, and let me say
I was a mess. I panicked at the beginning but at the end I
came to grips that this was a very important
project and it was very special for me to present.

Materials:

  • Wood burning tool ( I got mines at A.C. Moore, Walnut Hollow)
  • Wood plaques ( I got a bunch of them because I had to practice first)
  • A pencil and a Eraser ( If you going to freestyle)
  • Transfer paper and carbon paper to make it easier
  • Spray sealer ( Just to keep it from damaging in time)
  • And a lot of dedication!

I made four plaques for four amazing TEACHERS because
they are amazing at they're job and they have a lot of passion
and love for their job,
 And One Merit Award
for the school Security Guard because every morning she greet
us with the most amazing smile and happiness.

It's amazing the hard work my princess teacher do.
They deserve to be recognized and I'm honored to make something so
beautiful for them to know how much we appreciate their work
and their passion.

CLASS OF 2016!

So now more about the work and process of these beautiful awards.
Learning to wood burn wasn't easy it took me a lot of practice and
training my hand to stop shaking because I was nervous. Lol

I used tracing paper to put the whole design together.
I wanted to make sure that everything was placed in the
right place and that every word was straight.
I used transfer paper to transfer the message onto the plaque.

I sand the corners and the edging to make sure there
wasn't no wood sticking out and to prevent a very ugly splinter.
I also sealed my work for in case it gets wet is resistant to that
and to dust it with no fear of messing up the piece.
Also to preserve the burned words to the plaque.

One I'm proud of my work, but I'm more proud
of the teachers and staff that deserve to be recognize for
they're hard work.
Also I'm so happy with their reaction when they were given
these beautiful plaques.
I was so emotional that I kept telling myself don't cry!!! LOL.

To the amazing teachers, YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST!

I hope you guys love these pieces of work, I'm proud with the
outcome and the way it all turned out.

If you guys want to know more about wood burning feel free to
ask I'm still learning but we could definitely learn
together!!! We are all a Team.

From Simple To Beautiful:

Simplicity:

So I got these cute shoes at Walmart because we have to
attend my husband's graduation. And
my daughter needs white shoes but I couldn't find the
right ones.

She has this beautiful dress and the shoes just didn't look to
 good with the dress.
So the issue was that it was so plain and simple.
And I wanted the shoes to compliment the dress.

So I went for the search, which wasn't as easy as I thought
it would, Lol!

But finally I found the perfect little thing to sew on it.
These little cute flowers was just what I need. I got them
from A.C Moore.

And it was inexpensive, and so easy to sew on the elastic of
the shoes. And when I was done it looked so nice and way better
than before.

You could glue them with fabric glue, but I always prefer to
sew it rather than glue it, because
I know is sewn and it won't fall off as easy with just the glue.

I hope you guys like this little cute idea...

Wall Decor for Boys -

Punisher Meets Dr. Who:

Hello Everyone, I know it's been a while
since I posted anything on my page.
But this project is dear to my heart because
it's a present for someone very special...

He's a big fan of Dr. Who and The Punisher
So I wanted him to have both!
Go big or home!!! Lol

Materials:

  • 12 x 12 Wall Plaque (I got mines at A.C. Moore).
  • The letters to the name you would like to do.
  • Acrylic Paint & Brushes
  • Tracing Paper
  • Wood glue
  • The templates of the design you would like to paint

I chose these colors in particular because the main drawing is blue,
which is the infamous Tardis from Dr. Who.
Plus I love Bronze lol!!

I don't if you can't see it but I transfered the drawing of
the Police Box onto the plaque. It came out a little
too light that I had to reference with the template to get it
Perfect!

I'll be honest it wasn't a easy project but the whole
idea was so fun to put together.
I'm also a fan of the show so I had a kick from
drawing it and putting it together.

On the 4 corners I put a quote of the show.
He's a fan of the 11th Doctor, so I used his coolest quotes.

I hope everyone likes this project as much as I did
putting it together.
My nephew is going to love it.
I can't wait to see his reaction when he sees it.

Happy Birthday to a very special boy Ricky,
may your dreams comes true!!!

Handpainted Tribal Elephant-

Fun & Creative:

I saw this beautiful ceramic elephant at Target, and
I just had to get it.
It took a while to come up with a good idea
for this piece because I wanted to put it in
my dining room or my entertainment center.

Materials:
  • Ceramic Elephant (Target for $4.99)
  • Acrylic Paint
  • Paint Brushes
  • Bowl of water (to clean the brushes)

I started off with dark grey but after I was done, it was too
dark for my liking.
So I decided to make a lighter shade of grey.
And I liked it much more than Dark Grey.

I love tribal designs so I wanted to incorporated that
on this lovely piece.

Did I mention I love tribal designs?? Haha!
I kind of went a little over board but I love the ending results.
This piece is amazing!!!

I apologize for taking so long to put up a new project.
I took some time off, to heal from my wisdom teeth surgery,
which was really bad.

I got a few more projects coming up but I'm going to
take my time because I really want them to come out
perfect.

DIY Themed Wall Decor-

Beauty in Paris:

This amazing project is very special because it's
for a very special little girl.
My niece's Birthday is coming up soon
and I wanted to make something special for her
to have for a long time.

This project is very easy to put together and
is not expensive to make either.

Material:

  • Wooden Wall Block Frame (I got mine at A.C. Moore)
  • Wooden Letters
  • Acrylic Paint
  • Paint Brushes
  • Decorative Knob (I got mine at A.C Moore as well)
  • Little Wooden Decals (I got mine at JoAnn's)
  • Bowl of water (to clean brushes)
  • Super Tacky Glue (I got mine at A.C. Moore)

Her room is Paris themed, so I wanted
for this piece to go really good with her stuff.

I love the way the colors came together mostly the seaside blueish
with the light pink.
I drew different things in each letter that goes with the theme
as well. It wasn't easy but sure it was fun.

I haven't drawn in years so I was kind of nervous because
I really wanted for everything to look perfect.
But I was surprised with the results it all turned out
so beautiful!

A walk through Paris.
(Is the name of the theme)
I can't wait for her to receive her gift.

The knob was really easy to screw in. And if anyone wants to
make this beautiful piece, when you glue all the letters and little
wooden decals you have to leave it dry overnight.
So everything can dry perfectly.

I hope everyone likes this post as much as I
love putting together...

Stay positive and Be Creative!!!

Do We Scream More Than We Anticipate???

Ugly Little Truth:

So do we??
I know that I do and it shatters me to admit it.

I grew up in a very out-of-this-world environment, my parents
are Hispanic (Puerto Rican).
My dad was more quiet and kept to himself,
But my mother was always screaming and loud.
And if I ever did anything wrong you better believe she had
a belt in hand or a slipper (Chancleta!! lol).

Well I catch myself screaming at my house,
And it's embarrassing because it was never me.
I'm more of a calm person and at the end of the day
 I didn't like it,
And I want it to take it out of my life.

So I did what everybody does nowadays, Googled it.
I found a blog entry on how to take the screaming and getting
agitated out of your life slowly.
(I don't remember the link, but I'll try to find it to share with
everyone)
And I have to say it worked even though I changed some
of the things on the list to fit my life style.

Basically what I did was to take a note every time
that I screamed or got agitated wrote it down and go over the
reason why I felt that way.

And after a couple of days instead of screaming or
getting mad I found myself making a note to myself
letting myself know it's not worth to scream.

I enjoy what I do and the type of person than I am,
I know it in my heart that I'm a good Wife and Mom.
I don't let tragedy or tribulation beat me down because I need to be
strong for my family.

So I learned that screaming is not the answer to get anyone's
attention, If you need to scream to be heard than don't waste your time.
Your time to speak will come and that's when you come
and say what is bothering you and communicate much better than
tearing at each other throats.

I hope this helps...

DIY Coral Pink Wreath-

Is Better in Pink:

So holidays are over. Boo Hoo!!!
Why can't it last longer? Lol

I wanted to put something up since I took my
decorations down, And my door looks pretty bare!!!

I was pushing for something to represent Valentine's Day
that is coming up but then I don't want to have to change it
in such a short period.

So I sat and thought about my color pallet, And I've been
obsessing with Coral Pink for weeks now.
and decided to go for it.

Materials:
  • Wreath Wire (I got mine at A.C. Moore)
  • 2 Rolls of regular Burlap (Also at A.C. Moore)
  • 2 Chevron Coral Pink Burlap (I found these at Walmart)
  • Floral Wire
  • Flowers (Any that you like, I got these at Dollar Tree)
  • The letter is optional but it could add a nice touch to your wreath

I fell in love with these colors, the coral pink is so
different to what I'm use to and is just perfect.

A little idea on how to start.
you could go to YouTube and search for videos on
wreath making. I haven't done one yet but soon I promise to make one.

It's coming out pretty nice.
It's so angelical and peaceful.
I know it kind of looks springy but I couldn't resist.

It's amazing what you could create if you set your mind
to it, And I love that I take such challenges and bring them to life.

Even in the night it shines bright!
I love the end result it's just breathtaking.

I hope everyone loves this new post,
And if you need any help making any of these ideas
feel free to leave me a comment with any questions.
I will gladly help.
